Sachiko Yashiro

Some of her earliest memories are of painting and art: she remembers doing a self-portrait at Kindergarten at the age of three and getting complimented on it.She was always drawing and painting in my free time and was awarded the Japan regional competition at the age of 10 for an autumn color landscape.

She graduated from art and fashion college after four years and then dedicated herself to gaining more experience and broadening her worldview. She went abroad and then to the UK. She studied art and fashion at Central Saint Martins. This experience helped to clearly broaden my world vision.Returning to Japan, She worked as a fashion and graphic designer while also studying oil painting on her own, and in 2011 she studied painting at the Elvisor Art School in Spain. She is strongly influenced by surrealism and expresses her work based on her own experiences. She is also a lecturer in art therapy and color theory.

STATEMENT

It is her own reality that She depicts based on the artist’s own experiences. She uses the canvas each day to work on self-awareness, gratitude, healing, and mourning. The artist describes painting as an act that is infinitely accessible, free, and open, yet very private at the same time. The exhibition will explore the connection between painting, a form of expression without words, and empathy, assuming empathy to be the intellectual and human act of understanding others deeply.
